The Port of Seattle expresses its deepest appreciation for the successful efforts made by U.S. Senator Patty Murray (WA) to include $3 million in federal funding in the final fiscal year 2024 Transportation Appropriations bill approved Friday. Funds could be used for the assessment of homes eligible to receive secondary noise insulation. The federal funding coincides with the Port’s Sound Insulation Repair and Replacement Program. This pilot program, which was sponsored by Commission President Hamdi Mohamed and unanimously approved by the Port Commission last month, allocates $5 million toward the repair and replacement of ineffective sound insulation packages provided to residents of communities near Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA).
Port Thanks Senator Murray for Inclusion of $3 Million Environmental Mitigation Provision in Transportation Funding Bill
